VCatcher  (Free to try, $29.95 to buy)

VCatcher is a program that permits users to capture video from websites and then convert it to most of the known file formats, mainly for the purpose of creating files that will play in other devices.

Among the core features of the program are: Download Flash video from the Web using HTPP and RTMP protocols (no copying and pasting, just watch the vids!); record videos from your PC’s screen (supported formats include Hulu, webinars, Netflix, and video chats); play back videos using the program’s built-in video player; convert videos into formats suitable for a raft of popular devices (e.g. iPad, iPhone, Sony PSP, HTC etc.); when converting video, a number of parameters relating to duration, resolution, and quality are available; very simple but powerful user interface.

What’s new in version 3.90: Support for capturing and streaming using RTMP protocol; download acceleration option added; drag & drop when importing and exporting videos; various bug and error fixes.

Operating System:  Windows 7, Windows Vista, Windows XP

Limitations:  50% to download/2 min to record trial
